Funny Video Guy Plays Trick With Ladder Moves It While Coming Down

Charles Christopher "Charlie" White Jr. (born: August 2, 1994 (1994-08-02) [age 27]), better known online as penguinz0 (also known as Cr1TiKaL or MoistCr1TiKaL), is an American YouTuber, commentator, Twitch streamer, actor, voice actor, writer, and musician who has received widespread attention and acclaim for his YouTube videos which revolves around dry humor.

Charlie is widely regarded as one of the "Funniest YouTube Commentators",[2] being ranked first by the percentage of votes in the "Top-ten" website, under the category of "Funniest YouTube Commentators".[3] His choice of sentences are always very sarcastic, and he often repeats a "bored burger" joke of his and claims that it is the greatest joke of all time and always emphasizes how funny it is. He is a longtime YouTuber, having been on the platform for nearly 15 years, and is widely considered one of the last "original" YouTubers reamining on the site.

About

Charlie's videos and content has evolved over the years. In the beginning, the channel focused primarily on performing glitches on shooter games, such as Battlefield and Call of Duty, and later gaming guides for said games.[4] However, his videos later evolved into more gameplay and commentary. Charlie started doing non-gaming related content with "The Real Series", which has him doing voice-overs on infomercials between 2012 and 2014. The first of these videos is titled "The Real Fridge Locker", uploaded on September 22, 2012. Later, around early 2016, he began talking about various types of topics, including internet drama, which is still a major part of the channel today.

Through 2016 and into 2017, Charlie started reviewing different types of media and creating the popular serieses "Moist Meter" and "Liquid Ladder" for ratings, rankings, and tier lists. He also does a year-end award show known as Moisties (found in his Moist Meter playlist). Since 2019, Charlie has uploaded music videos onto his channel with his duo, The Gentle Men. He also started collecting various cards from many brands like Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokémon to try and find some of the most high-value cards on the market. Charlie is also the co-founder of the company Human Media Group (HMG) with his middle school friend Matt Phillips.

Career

Early YouTube career

Charlie joined YouTube as Penguinz0 on May 7, 2007. Following a brief period of time, he uploaded his oldest non-deleted video titled "gears of war jetpack glitch (NO Standby or lag switch) AP", which can be found on his channel uploaded on August 5 in the same year, and its main topic was on the performance of a glitch in the video game Gears Of War.

His video received little attention and he made a few other videos which followed by a video on a montage of his sniping in video games and a short series of videos attributing to Halo 3, other Gears Of War games, and Bioshock. These videos all gained little reception and attention.

Charlie gained a brief amount of popularity on a video in which he actually commentated over it, which was "Aliens vs Predator Let Rock Achievement Guide".[5] His low-tone voice was noted by several YouTubers who had watched his video and praised his notable "deep voice" and "seriousness". Charlie allegedly took note of his performance in the video and began commentating over several videos, though they mainly focused on tutorials and were more solemn.

Charlie's first brush with humor was touched on in his video "Battlefield BC 2 Hilarious Round Saving Rush Destruction",[6] which was about an accident in the video game, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which he considered humorous. He would later upload several videos concerning humorous moments and periods transpiring through Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Charlie's intentional sarcasm in expressing humor over commentating developed over a string of videos he titled the "Fun Tactics". They consisted of mainly humorous and ludicrous methods of protection and assault.

Charlie's first video in which he entirely focused on delivering humor in the form of insults and sarcasm through commentary was a video titled "Modern Warfare 2 Ground War 1-20 Gameplay and Commentary".[7] He deliberately gave a hilariously bad performance in playing a Ground War of Ream Deathmatch in the multiplayer category of "Modern Warfare 2".

In his content, he repeatedly insulted players who killed him while poking fun at himself and repetitive use of self-encouragement in which he praised himself, while also using mild forms of criticism. The video, as a result, gained wide critical acclaim and performed better than his early videos in terms of views. He would later cover a variety of video games while commentating over Call of Duty games with the same "terrible" performances.

Charlie's videos had gained high critical acclaim following his commentaries over video games. They were often praised as "hilarious" and "sarcastic", and several YouTubers claimed to have cried out of laughter.

However, Charlie's audience expanded at a rapid rate after he uploaded a video titled "The Most Difficult Game Ever Created Gameplay and Commentary".[8] In the content, he commented overplaying the online computer game titled "QWOP" and associated it with the "hardest game he had ever played". The game's goal was to control the movements of an athlete to produce a running stance to complete a dash.

Charlie repeatedly lashed out at the game itself and the production while attempting to move the character but fail. His primary focus was on sarcasm, commentary, and insult as he tries to complete the game. The video ended with him failing and cursing the video game.

The video eventually gained popularity and Ray William Johnson took note of and reviewed it, establishing the humor and praised Charlie's sense of insults and association with the word "nipple". The video's view count subsequently raised at a drastic rate, and Charlie earned a considerable number of views, along with his number of subscribers increasing at an exponential rate.

In 2012, Charlie made a video titled "Charity", expressing his desire to donate all of his YouTube earnings to charity because he didn't require the money at the time as he was living with his parents. He made a second video in the same year titled "Charity 2" and a third titled "Charity 3", saying he had signed a partnership with Maker Studios and that he had set up a Twitter account to disclose his charity donations.

On September 2, 2014, Charlie made a video titled "Holy Shit", thanking his fans for getting him to 1 million subscribers where he reveals that he has donated over $50,000 to charity through his YouTube earnings.

Throughout most of the early 2010s, all the way up to around late 2017, Charlie had posted numerous gameplay and commentary videos on his channel playing various games and titles across multiple platforms and consoles. Starting in 2012, he also made what is arguably his most famous series of the channel, "The Real Series", where he does satirical dubs over infomercials (portmanteau of "information" and "commercial") which has spawned some of his most viewed videos. On August 16, 2016, Charlie through his Twitter account said that his YouTube channel had gotten disabled due to him getting two strikes on two of his videos.

Because of this, the day before, he made a video on a second account called "Cr1TiKaL" to speak about the strikes. In the video he explains how one strike came from the video "How Budlight is Made", in which there was an animated male genitalia present, to which the video was removed. The other strike came from the video "Second Life Video", where Charlie put a link to his Budlight video which he re-uploaded to Pornhub. This video was also removed on YouTube. In the response, Charlie talks about how his videos were wrongfully struck going through YouTube's spam guidelines and showing that he broke no rules. Many YouTubers such as Funhaus came forward in support of Charlie.

On April 17, 2017, Charlie made a tweet and a video on his main channel, speaking about how the strikes had been lifted and both of the videos were back up due to H3h3Productions getting in contact with his friend at YouTube. In the video, Charlie thanks his followers and everybody who helped, and talks about how much YouTube means to him. Sometime in mid-December of 2016, Charlie and 4 of his closest friends created The Official Podcast, one of the first successful podcasts aside from Joe Rogan to air on YouTube, which is still running to this day.

On March 6, 2017, shortly before the 10-year anniversary of the channel, Charlie showed his face for the first time to his general audience in the video "10 years on YouTube" after giving a warning to people who wanted him to stay anonymous. Many people consider this video as the beginning of the end of the Gameplay and Commentary Era of the channel, and into the modern age.

Afterwards, Charlie began to phase out his anonymous persona, soon eventually getting rid of it entirely, which allowed him to do more videos about more personal things and stories about events in his life. This also led to more discussions about other random topics outside the gaming world and even the Internet. This was also around the time when the Moist Meter was created to rate movies and games from a scale of 0% to 100%, which is also still active today.

Since 2018, he began broadcasting on his Twitch account. He used to stream on YouTube but became afraid of the moderation of the site and lack of communication between him and YouTube's support team. He streams games and watches chat-suggested videos. Since late 2019, he has posted lots of Twitch Montages which conceded of Games, YouTube Nights, and most recently, Card Openings.

2020 onward

2020, which was when the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the world, was a big year for the channel's growth as this was the year where some of Charlie's biggest forms of content, were posted which led to a huge subscriber boom that continued on in 2021. In 2020, the channel gained nearly over 3 million subscribers in the same year. Charlie managed to achieve one of the biggest gaming accomplishments, by defeating XQcOW in a chess tournament where he amazingly checkmated him in 6 moves.[9]

Charlie had also created a new series called the Liquid Ladder where he rates food items of similar uses and properties on which one is the best and worst. He also expanded on his music project, The Gentle Men, producing 5 songs in 2020 after the release of "2019 Guy" in 2019.

On June 15, 2020, Charlie released a video titled "Something Huge For You", in which he announced a scavenger hunt for his newest music video "Skynut" which was released 2 days earlier. Charlie announced that for the first 5 people who find 4 clues will be awarded a thousand dollars each. The clues were in three unlisted videos on Charlie's second channel called Charlie W, and included an Easter egg and key words in the music video. The videos were called "Clue", "Clue B", and "Clue C", and the answers were "reindeer", "Stitch", and "Penis Park" (Haesindang Park). The winners were announced on the comments of the third video, and Charlie still regularly uses this channel to watch YouTube videos during his YouTube nights on Twitch.

On September 1, 2020, Charlie uploaded a video titled "I'm Mad", where he revealed his channel received a community guideline strike for uploading "violent and graphic content with the intent to shock". A prank road rage video titled "Road Rager Learns A Hard Lesson" caused his channel to receive the strike, which YouTube initially upheld after Charlie submitted an appeal. Shortly thereafter, YouTube received backlash for their decision, and reversed the strike, stating it was "an over-enforcement of their policies."

In the same month, Charlie criticized YouTube's lack of action toward channels that posted videos of animal abuse, such as Peluchin Entertainment, who recorded a video of him abusing his cat to death. Since then, Peluchin had been terminated from YouTube, and Charlie's road rage prank video was reinstated. In November of 2020, Charlie uploaded a video on YouTube where he called out Twitch for their DMCA crackdowns. In October of 2020, Charlie began investing in dildos he calls "Moby Huge".[10]

In November, Charlie signed a contract with BroadbandTV Corp (BBTV) to become a content partner with the company. Around that time, with the huge rise in popularity of the InnerSloth game Among Us, Charlie began taking part in large online streams in collaboration with other large YouTubers, including PewDiePie and jacksepticeye.

Charlie has become well-known in these videos to be extremely good at the game, often lying himself into victory with an impressive rate of success. Charlie is also a professional collector of Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh playing cards. In a video estimating the total value of his collections, assuming all cards are listed as a PSA Mint 10, the cards he has kept have a value of a minimum of at least $37,000 (subject to change according to card popularity). Card openings, sometimes with friends, of Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards are often featured on Charlie's Twitch streams, with highlights then being uploaded to his YouTube channel a few days later. Charlie jokingly calls it an addiction, with some audience members thinking it is an actual addiction.[11]

In November of the same year, Charlie made a video thanking his fans for raising $14,000 for the surgery of two dogs on his Twitch stream, with him contributing $3,000, bringing the total to $17,000. In 2021, Charlie still does most of the stuff he did back in 2020, with Among Us being the only exception. One of his more popular types of videos is playing the survival game Rust with the same group of friends he played Among Us with. In mid-January, he purchased a warehouse that was of the market, which opens the possibility for much more bigger content in the near future, which is projected to once again boost the channel's popularity.

Cr1TiKaL's Funtage Series

This is the very first series that Charlie ever did on his channel. The series was a montage series for Gears of War where Charlie showcased his skills in the game. In 2010 after the channel grew in popularity he deleted the entire series due to fear of getting strikes which Charlie talked about in the videos "Nostalgia" and "My Past". The only surviving video from this series can be found on Gearsopedia's second channel Vysteriuh where Charlie used to submit videos to. The series playlist can be found on the Wayback Machine.

Cr1TiKaL's Fun Tactics Series

This series was made by Charlie back on March 15, 2010. This Series was dedicated to introducing a showing unique, and interesting tricks, strategies, and random bullshit on the AAA titles at the time, most notably Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Halo Reach, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops I, and others. This series also marked the first time that Charlie began to upload regularly since the past 2 years before he had only uploaded 27 videos. This last episode from the series was uploaded on September 16, 2018 on Blackout and was titled "Leap Frog". The series has been inert since then. Nevertheless this was a crucial part in the Channel's lore as it help the channel grow out of irrelevance.

The Cr1TiKaL Versus Series

The Cr1TiKaL Versus Series was announced by Charlie on June 5, 2010 and the first episode being released the very next day. The gist of the series being Charlie fighting any boss of any video game in any way that his subscribers wanted him to.

This is by far the shortest series that Charlie has ever done on his channel, with it only containing two episodes. The first being for Fallout 3 and the second for Star Fox 64. In his Messages video Charlie revealed that the series turned out to be more difficult than he thought it would be and this being the reason why he dropped it.

The Real Series

The Real Series was created on September 23, 2012 during the height of the Gameplay and Commentary Era and sometime after the end of the Fun Tactics Era. The series in general is a satire series where Charlie dubs over an infomercial where he uses his play on words, humor, and undertone voice to make the infomercial more humorous. This series is arguably the greatest series out of the others, attracting millions of views and making some of the most viewed videos on the channel. Notable videos like the Glory Hole Repair, Edge of Glory, Mighty Thirsty, Smart Mop, and much more are in the top 20 most viewed videos. The Real Series is also the second oldest occurring series on the channel, although it has seen rapid decline after the end of Gameplay and Commentary Era. Though Charlie still hinted that the series is still alive with a new Real Series video being posted back in April of 2020.

HotFeed

HotFeed was created on July 4, 2015 with the first episode titled "4 things you didn't know about yourself". This is the first and only series to date on Charlie's channel which had an associated website, twitter and facebook pages. The series was a parody/clone of BuzzFeed with the videos containing unsourced misinformation mimicking sites like BuzzFeed. The series contains a total of 4 episodes, with the twitter and facebook page being introduced in the third episode and the website being introduced in the fourth and final episode titled "HotFeed" released on July 29, 2015. Charlie revealed during the "Still No Title" video that him and his friends who worked on the series and website started having less time to work on it and they didn't pay to renew the website after a while leading to the website and series being discontinued.

Splash TV

Splash TV was a series started by Charlie on August 11, 2016 as a satire on TV networks. In Splash TV Charlie covered random topics in satirical fashion, movie reviews, nursery rhymes and news topics. This series is considered to be the predecessor to the Moist Meter as this was this was the first time Charlie reviewed movies on the Channel. Splash TV contains a total of ten episodes with the last one being released on November 6, 2016.

Moist Meter

The Moist Meter is the largest series so far at 267 episodes. This series premiered on March 26, 2017, is a movie/TV show and game review series where the scientists at the Moist Meter headquarters (Charlie and Jackson) record a deep biopsy of a movie/TV shoe or video game's moisture content (Basically is it a good game/ movie or not) and measure the moisture content on a scale ranging from 0% to 100% moisture. 100% being as moist as all the water on earth, and 0% being dryer than Charlie's humor. Although there have been over 200 games and movies examined, none has yet to reach 100%, as well as no movie or game that it's so bad, that it doesn't even show up on the moisture scale and are rated 0% ( Cats (2019) and Cuties (2020) don't count since they were never properly examined, but were in the Moisties). The only two albums that were ever featured on the Moist Meter were Eminem's Kamikaze and Billie Eilish's When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go.

Moisties

At the end of each year since 2018, Charlie hosts the the annual Moisties, where he picks the Top 5 best and worst movies, and games, most of which were rated on the Moist Meter and based on their moisture content. Charlie constantly points out that this event would eventually eclipse the Oscars.

Liquid Ladder

The Liquid Ladder, or the Tier List Series, is the newest series which officially premiered on September 6, 2020, but has actually begun back in July of that same year, with a Karen tier list. The Liquid ladder which operate similar to the Moist Meter test various items of similar properties and/or characteristics, and rate them on a tier list. The unique part of this tier list, you actually get to see Charlie and his long time friend Matt, test, taste, examine, and analyze these various items. The current most viewed video of the series is the Pizza tier list, in which viewers were intrigued at how Charlie will react to certain pies, as some of the pies experimented were already criticized as garbage, most notably Pizza Hut.

Podcast

The Official Podcast was supposed to be an experiment back in December of 2016 where Charlie and his four close friends: Huggbees (Andrew), Kaya, And Zealot (Jackson) decided to make a podcast together, where they talk about a variety of topics and ideas that comes across these four minds can come across. The Podcast first premiered on December 14th, 2016 with "Episode 1: Biblical Questions". Many people, even the hosts themselves believed that the podcast wouldn't survive past mid-2017. However, they were proven wrong as the podcast began to gain traction as people got more into it, which led it to stay relevant to this day, where it remains popular. Thus making it one of the first actual podcasts to be successful besides the Joe Rogan Experience. The podcast has seen multiple guests come on the show including PewDiePie, Jacksepticeye, IDubbbzTV, I Hate Everything, Pyrocynical, Videogamedunkey, SwaggerSouls, H3h3Productions, Gibi ASMR, Belle delphine, JonTronShow, actor Noah Munck, and many more.

Personality

Charlie is widely known for his usage of elaborate, vulgar descriptions and "creative curses." He has also been associated with a wide range of audiences with the word "nipple" due to his excessive habit of voicing it out whenever he encounters a problematic situation in a video game he commentates over. He previously covered a small range of first and third-person shooters. However, he currently plays a variety of video games that had gained cult followings in public and often blatantly describes them through sarcasm.

Charlie often uses sarcasm to praise and criticize video games' points deliberately and values in morals, often subjecting himself to experimentation with the video games' environment. His dry humor is often subjective to the topics of the video games, though his usage of vocabulary and reactions are considered universal in his range of video games.

Charlie is also noted to "not fear anything" due to his subtle responses/reactions to typically terrifying scenarios in video and indie games. However, he was once shocked by the sudden swift appearance of a leaf in a "Medal of Honor" video game commentary, and several of his subscribers have jokingly teased him ever since with such points and reminders.

Anonymity

For nine years of his internet career Charlie remained anonymous. In the past, Charlie was known to rarely interact with his audience, except for videos and series. He rarely replies to YouTube comments, despite his active use of responding in his earlier videos. When he replies, it is often towards questions that highlight the importance of his videos, and his replies are often abrupt and brief. In his video entitled "Messages," he claims he usually replies to YouTube private messages. However, a Reddit page has been made based around him, and he sometimes posts or reply to posts there. He also replies to his audience on his Twitch where he often streams.

Charlie's real-life status was also often debated furiously upon by his subscribers. A video gained notoriety among his subscribers after it highlighted Charlie's apparent "face" when the link is clicked through his Facebook profile and is connected to a photograph in an album that depicts a teenager in a large shirt with tattoos scribbled on both of his arms. He is making a supposed "gang" symbol. This has sparked off extensive debates over whether the teenager is Charlie. Charlie has not responded to the photographs.

In a "Black Ops" video, Charlie claimed to have "gone to school, paused the recording, and returned with straight A's", which started a debate as to whether he is still young enough to go to school or was simply an implication of sarcasm. He once mentioned being in his senior year of college, in a Snapchat. He graduated from the University of Tampa in 2016.

In Charlie's video "Aliens vs Predator Let Rock Achievement Guide", a comment was found by the user xTwistedHitsx, which read "damn charlie your voice got deep" which was evidence towards Penguinz0's real first name. This was later confirmed by the text in the video "Still Can't Think of a Title",[13] where the game saves in Charlie's user profile.

A comment was found on one of Charlie's videos which said that Charlie had said he was sixteen in one of his livestreams from almost seven years ago.

On September 20, 2015, Charlie officially revealed his real name to be Charlie in the video "About Me".[14] This confirmed previous theories that he in the credits of Lucius II was referring to Charlie.

On January 15, 2016, Charlie stated that he was 21 in one of Huggbee's live streams. The live stream is titled "Everything is great with Cr1TiKaL" and he said it 02:04:05. Huggbee's live stream account is Thelonen00b.

In the video "Paint the Town Red Gameplay and Commentary", Charlie mentioned posting a snap chat story a day of himself playing the recorder, then proceeded to publish his snap chat username in the comments. Several fans claim to have been added by him and have spread a video and a photo. It was since confirmed that this it is indeed him, and since posting the snaps, he went on to post many more, confirming further that it is genuinely him.

In multiple Official Podcast episodes and in Twitch streams, Charlie confirmed the rumor that he had abandoned Snapchat, his reason being a disliking of an update he claims "ruined it". He later reinstalled it in 2021.

After Charlie uploaded a video titled "10 Years on YouTube" where he shows his face for the first time, he began to slowly feel more comfortable showing his face in videos, and as of 2019, many of his videos in which he talks to the camera are just stills of his face. The stills are provided by YouTube, as he doesn't produce his own thumbnails. On his Twitch streams, he also has a facecam on, letting viewers see his reactions during gameplay and his recent "Just Chatting" streams.

From 2017 onward, since the video previously mentioned, Charlie's anonymity has been abandoned , and he regularly uploads videos of his face talking into a webcam.

Alter-Egos

Genghis Swan

Genghis Swan is Charlie's pseudonym as an accidental award winning writer. Genghis Swan is known for revolutionizing the written word and is the greatest adult story writer and poet of all time. In 2017 he published his first children's book The Man Who Forgot How to Poop.

Shade

Shade is Charlie's TikTok alter-ego who is a connoisseur of magic, dancing and pseudo philosophy. Shade has gone into retirement at the moment. Charlie wears all black and covers his face with a bandana as Shade.

Media influence

Prior to 2020, media outlets sparsely referenced Charlie's gameplay videos, although his 2015 video on Ark: Survival Evolved was referenced by The Daily Star. In the 2010s, Charlie drew attention from media outlets for his commentary videos, which were often of discourse about the YouTube platform and considerably critical of YouTube's policies. For example, in 2013, Charlie was cited by Tubefilter as panning YouTube's new comment system, which required a Google+ account to leave comments on videos. Tiffany Kelly of The Daily Dot wrote that Charlie is known for his "sardonic commentary".

In February 2016, The Guardian included his video reaction to the Fine Brothers' React World controversy in their coverage of the situation. In September of the same year, Charlie was cited among other YouTubers who criticized the platform for mass-demonetizing videos. Charlie's 2017 video showcasing character customization in Mass Effect: Andromeda was referenced by Kotaku. In May, 2017 Charlie's video featuring a pit of 5,400 balls he made for his husky Tetra went viral, causing the Press Association to interview him about it and various media outlets to report on it. In June, he participated in the first PogChamps chess tournament, hosted by Chess.com. Charlie abruptly won "one of the more anticipated games" in the tournament, beating fellow Twitch streamer xQc in six moves. Dot Esports noted the game as one of the five "biggest moments in streaming from 2020", with the clip of Charlie's victory becoming one of the most-viewed in Twitch history, earning over 1.9 million views by December 24.

Unfortunately, the massive influence Charlie had was so massive that the rabid fanbase sent hate comments to whoever Charlie made fun of (even death threats). The situation became so dire that Charlie eventually had to make a YouTube response video angrily criticizing all the people who have been involved in such discourse and hate and made it clear that he has no ill will to the people who he mocks (except Jaystation), only mocking the flaws of them.

He had a mini-feud with Belle delphine on who would have the most sex toys. He thought he had the challenge won only to be defeated by Belle with a video showcasing her collection of sex toys.

Charlie's favorite Dhar Mann character is Steve, due to Steve refusing the babysitter's advances and staying loyal to his wife.[15] Nathan Ing, one of Dhar Mann's actors, admitted that one of the reasons he began acting in Dhar's videos was to see Charlie's reaction.[16]

Charlie once reacted to Arcade Craniacs and sarcastically mocked them due to them being cringy and similar to ImJayStation, not realizing that the channel was satire. Thanks to his reaction video, many more people began watching the Arcade Craniacs channel (and correctly realizing that they were in fact ironic) and it caused them to become more popular.

Charlie created a Twitter account that he previously used only for posting proof of charity donations, but is now much more active on. He also has a Gmail account where anyone can ask him anything. Charlie also revealed his Snapchat "big_moist" in 2016 which is now inactive. Charlie also has an Instagram called "BigMoistCr1tikal". He has a Twitch account under the name moistcr1tikal. He has revealed his PornHub account "TheBiggestMoist" which he used to post videos which YouTube deleted. He has a Facebook account under the name Charles White which is inactive. He created a Tiktok account as an experiment for a video under the handle of his alter ego Shade. The TikTok account is no longer active. In 2021. Charlie reinstalled Snapchat and TikTok both under the handle hugecharles.

Personal life

Charlie was born on August 2, 1994, in Tampa, Florida. Due to his anonymity on YouTube, little to no confirmed information was attributed to his character and life. In recent years he revealed he lives in the Tampa, Florida metropolitan area with his girlfriend. Over the years he has opened up about his personal life, revealing both his dogs (Tetra and Cayda), his girlfriend Tiana Tracy, and even his dad in videos and streams from 2018 onward.

In early 2016, Charlie mentioned that "university was starting back up again" on his Snapchat, implying he was in university. On May 7, 2016 (the 9th anniversary of creating his YouTube channel), Charlie graduated from The University of Tampa with a degree in Human Sciences.

On June 14, 2016, Charlie talked about his OCD,[17] what he went through with it, and how he dealt with it since he mentioned it in a video two months earlier. One of the "rituals" he did was watching the film "National Treasure" every night while he fell asleep. On December 12, 2016, Charlie's profile picture and banner had finally changed. One of the reasons for this was because he believed it was the last remnant of his struggle with OCD that he needed to get past.

On July 1, 2018, Charlie uploaded a video called "51 Hour Roadtrip", which showed more of his relationship with his girlfriend Tiana.

Controversies

Feud with MaximilianMus

On February 19, 2021, Charlie uploaded a video titled "This Is The Worst YouTuber" where he exposes a YouTuber and Call of Duty gameplayer known as MaximilianMus for being racist, homophobic, and for encouraging his fans to dox, threaten, and spam other YouTubers and streamers.[18]

Feud with Vegan Gains

When Charlie made a video criticizing Mukbang YouTubers who tortured animals alive, Richard made a response video calling out Charlie for his hypocrisy as he was a meat eater. Charlie responded[19] but Vegan Gains called him a hypocrite.[20] After that, Charlie made one final response,[21] and the comments and likes on both YouTuber's videos were in Charlie's favor.

OTV Rust Server drama

On January 10, 2021, Charlie uploaded a video titled "Rust Drama", where he talked about the toxic community of the survival video game called Rust. He also pointed out the creation of the Offline TV Rust server (by BaboAbe) was met with problems. A couple of Rust veterans had then camped out in a bush at night in the server and waited until mroning to wake up and kill people in the streets in-game, without the intent of making any fun content, but rather to provoke other players in the server and make them angrier.

Charlie wasn't in the server at the time of the incident, but had pointed out they were killing new players who were inexperienced in the game, and the veterans were insulting the players by telling them to "get better at the game". Many people in Charlie's chat were angry that he wasn't playing the game the right way when he was playing the game, causing Charlie to call the community out for its toxicity and runining the fun of the game, and the game itself, for people who like to play it.

Feud with Nikocado Avocado

On September 29, 2021, Charlie uploaded a video in which he expressed concern for Nikocado Avocado. Nikocado responded with an angry video in which he accuses the former of fat-shaming him and insulting his viewers, as well as saying that Charlie's fans were attacking him. The following day, Charlie uploaded another video claiming that he wasn't trying to insult Nikocado and expressed disappointment towards his viewers that left offensive comments on the latter's video. Since then, he has been willing to move on and has since not made any more videos on Nikocado.

Just about every one of Nikocado's videos since have been about Charlie or his viewers, insulting the gaming community, and claiming that every negative comment and dislike are from Charlie's subscribers, despite the fact that his popularity has been steadily declining for the past few years. Most comments have been in Charlie's favor, saying that he didn't do anything wrong and that Nikocado is attempting to harass and bully.

Feud with DarkViperAU

In February 2022, DarkViperAU posted a 14-page document titled "how the react grift works", arguing that "Reactors are all bad people. They explicitly exploit the less fortunate for their own gain". In one section, he writes "If you meet a reactor at a party, I suggest covering your glass or outright tell them you don't want them to f**k you, because they seem keen to take a person's silence for consent."

Some of the comparisons made in the document sparked backlash. Charlie, who often streams react content himself, mocked DarkViper's post, highlighting that DarkViper himself created react content, as he discussed in the post.

" He does make valid points in the document, but it's overshadowed by this unhinged rant that he goes on. DarkViper's entire document is about this belief that every reactor is doing it for financial gain and to f**k small channels. And the logic he uses to make these points is deeply flawed and isn't substantiated by any real evidence. "

―Charlie's response.[22]

Mizkif was equally dismissive of DarkViper's criticisms, pointing to his Twitch channel's viewership analytics and suggesting it was a motivation. Responding directly to Charlie, DarkViper said that most of what he said was "untrue", but due to "sincere misunderstandings as opposed to lies."

In a 47-minute video response, DarkViper accuses Charlie of trying to shape the narrative by misrepresenting what the document said, and using his larger audience to give only his side of the debate.[23] He says "This is why he's pissed. Because he's irrelevant now, he fell off. You were at 4k viewers, doing something, and you fell off hard. That's just it." DarkViper also attempts to clarify the comments about reactors spiking drinks at a party, explaining that it was only an analogy for the lack of consent often found with react content.

React content is still a grey area in terms of fair use and copyright laws. It is generally thought that the amount of commentary or criticism of the content will determine whether something is fair use or not. A day after DarkViper's 47-minute response, he would make his final video about the situation, stating how he doesn't hate Charlie and argues that he didn't link the document because he just wasn't thinking at the time. DarkViper even mentions he has one of his song in one of his playlists.[24]
